Denver Botanic Gardens
Site: Denver, Colorado. Elevation 5,183 ft.
The Project: Six garden structures -at a destination that receives over 600,000 visitors per year- ranging from the elaborate restoration of an old structure built in Japan, to conceiving a new vernacular in the creation of the “moongate” entrance to the Mongolian Garden.
Materials/Methods: Built primarily of Western Red Cedar planks, and Port Orford Cedar timbers sawn from logs killed in an 1880’s Southern Oregon fire.
Services Provided: Architectural design and construction.
